Parents and Randomness

My parents were here for about 5 day to stay with Alex and me. I don't really know what we did in all that time... just shopping and eating and some more eating. Yeah, that was pretty much it. But it was fun!! AND... I hate to say that I didn't take any pictures. It's not like I could take pictures of me and my dad buying curtains or getting an oil change or looking at Nissan Cubes... well I guess I could have but oh well!! Either way, my mom happen to snap a couple pictures on her phone this morning.

This is me and my dad at Apollo Burger in Salt Lake. I've never been there before, but anyone who knows my dad knows that he thinks he has to try every burger place on earth. He would eat a cheeseburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if he could.

Now these pictures are hilarious! So... the story is, me and my mom were done eating and we were waiting for my dad to finish his plate... as well as ours. Well he has a problem with stoping eating when he is full. If there is still food on the plate he thinks HE HAS TO FINISH IT ALL! So my dad was saying, "I'm so full right now, but I have to finish these fries." Me and my mom said, "No you don't!" So my mom reached over and pulled the tray from him. As she takes it from him, he reaches out for it like it was his life and says, "NO!". Then I said, "Wow, you're like a fat kid who just got his cake taken away!!" We all kinda start giggling, when my dad accidently let one slip! Yes, he farkled at this restaurant where we weren't alone! And if you know him, he HATES public humiliation, so he was utterly EMBARRASSED. WE LAUGHED SOOO HARD!! My dad was laughing so hard he started crying. I haven't laughed like that in long time... my stomach hurt so much afterwards! Oh gosh, awesomeness right there. Anyways... here are some hilarious pictures of him in the laughing action. Good times....

That was probably one of those "had to be there" stories, but those pictures were so funny to me that I had to share.

And then, totally off the subject... these little girls:

Since my parents were here the last 5 days, I hadn't checked my email in awhile. But when I did, I opened an email from my sister with these adorable girls. Are they not the cutest little girls/nieces ever?! I have yet to meet Navy, but isn't she so cute?! And I so so miss my princess, Rosy. She's is so precious... and BLONDE!! I didn't realize she was so dang blonde. All I know is that Alex and I had nooooo chance of having any blonde kids. Lol.
Thats it for now!! Peace!

Happy Birthday To MEEEE!!

Sooooo.... I'm finally 21!! My dad was sure to let me know that I was now legal to do ANYTHING I wanted... except for renting a car... gotta be 25 to do that. Lol. I had an awesome birthday. It wasn't anything super amazing with fireworks and a jumpy castle and 100 friends, but it was perfect.

It started out with a midnight run to Denny's. Denny's isn't my favorite or anything, but who could pass up a free Grand Slam breakfast on your birthday?! Not me!! Alex brought the present that he bought me and had me open it at Denny's. It was a brand new.... CURLING IRON!! That may seem like nothing, but I was pretty excited. I've been wanting to do something new with my hair so he bought me a curling iron. I don't know AT ALL how to use one, (pathetic for a girl, I know) but my sister in law, Kyrie, said she would give me the How To Use My Curling Iron 101. =)

Then we got up in the morning and got ready to see a movie. We looked a little something like this:

We saw this movie. Ramona and Beezus. And we loved it!!! It was so cute and there was absolutely nothing bad in it. Such a good movie. Definitely bring a box of kleenex tho.. you'll need at least 7.

Ps, When you go to the first showing of they day for any movie at the theater by our house, it's only $4 a person. DEAL!! So it was only $8 for both of us. Pretty awesome possum!

Then for lunch we went to a restaurant in Ogden called Jeremiah's with Alex's mom and sister. It's sooo yummy! They have the best scones. I've never had anything there that I didn't like.

Here's my amazing mother in law, Lisa, and my awesome sister in law, Kyrie. They are the greatest. I love em! Lisa got me a giftcard to Seagull Bookstore and Kyrie got me a giftcard to Down East. I LOVE GIFTCARDS!!!

Me and my baby at Jeremiah's. Ü

Then we went over to Alex's dad's house to hang out. I wasn't expecting to be taken out at all, but his dad INSISTED, so I said OK! (Darn! lol) So I chose Famous Dave's. It's been over a year since I've beent there and I was craving it. Soooo delicious!!

This is what we look like at Famous Dave's! Ü

I don't have a picture of Kevin and Jenn, cuz they were against taking a picture of them. Lol. They got me a new pair of earrings and a necklace and a picture of me (yeah... you won't understand that). They also got me 2 brand new tires for Booger!! My parents bought the 3rd tire for us and then Alex and I bought the 4th one. I got lots of birthday wishes via facebook, and calls, texts, and cards. It made me feel loved of course!

This morning I woke up to the UPS man at our door, so Alex answered it. It was a present from my family in AZ! It was a big box full of 21 gifts from candy, chips, gum, and Yoohoos, and letters from each one of my family members... even drawings from the nieces and nephews. It was an awesome belated birthday present. Ü

Thanks everyone who made my birthday awesome!! Muah!!

SECRETLY CRUSHING ON ADAM LAMBERT!

Sorry if you got the wrong impression.... whatdya think... I was pregnant?! You crazies!

Anyways.... I mean... It's not like I'm obsessed with him or wanna stalk him or anything, like I would Keith Lionel Urban or Heath Ledger if he were alive (Mmmmm...). I just think he's super duper cute!!! Ok, HOT!! And I like some of his songs. It just makes me wonder... why the heck is he gay?!

So anyways... I guess thats it for now. The End!!

PS, Please don't tell my dad. I'm pretty sure he would disown me. Yeah... he would.

Currently Obsessing Over...

THIS MAN:

Nicholas Sparks. Okay, well not really obsessing over him, but just his books. Which is weird for me. For those of you that KNOW ME, you know that cute, romantic, corny, girly, sappy things aren't really my style. At all. I'm usually more of the horror, bloody, guts, murder kind of girl. Scary, I know. But I swear, ever since I got married..... drum roll please..... I LIKE THIS STUFF. Don't get me wrong, you will still never ever catch me crying from a "Happily Ever After" ending but I actually enjoy it now and don't wanna kill myself afterwards. That goes for movies and books! But don't worry, I'm still the horror, bloody, guts, murder girl you all know and love. Ü

THESE:

Cheese Head String Cheese. Seriously, so yummy and addicting. I can never just eat one. And don't even try any other brand of string cheese... it's just not worth it.

THESE:

Kirkland brand shampoo and conditioner from Costco. Yeah, it's pretty much my favorite ever! It smells yummy and the conditioner makes my hair sooo soft and smooth. AND I even use the shampoo on Pebbles. It's awesome?

THIS:

Chocolate Malt Ovaltine!! Seriously, I don't know what it is. It's just plain ol' delicious. I make like 3 classes a day. It's waaaay better than that Nesquick crap. Oh yeah, I went there, and I'm not even sorry.

So basically what I'm saying is after using my Kirkland shampoo and conditioner in the shower, laying on the couch drinking a glass of chocolate malt Ovaltine with a side of Cheese Head string cheese, whilst reading whatever Nicholas Sparks book I'm on is a night of complete bliss. Amen?

P.s. This song playing on my blog right now, "King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles is another current obsession. I listen to it over and over and over and over.......

1 Year of Us!

So yay for us!!!! Alex and I had our 1 yr anniversary on the 11th. BUT... since that was on a Sunday we went out on Saturday night. We went to a restaurant called Ruth's Chris in Salt Lake. The first time we went was a year ago on our honeymoon in San Diego. It's soooo delicious and pretty fancy smancy. Let's just say our dinner for two went well over $100. But it's only once a year, plus we won't be able to do this once kids come around, so what the hey?! =)

PS, We both forgot our cameras so all we had to take pictures with was Alex's iphone. Hence the quality of these photos.

They put cute rose petels on our table.

And a cute little anniversary card.

Here is our yummy sides. I guess we both love potatoes. =)

Alex's stuffed chicken.

My super fantastic New York Strip.

Our free dessert! They lit the candle on the side of the plate and had us both make a wish and blow it out at the same time. That little cup had chocolate mouse in it with whip cream on top. It was all DELICIOUS!

Then the next day was our actual anniversary. Alex got me these beautiful roses. Alex said the one pink rose means perfect happiness? Or maybe it was happiness forever? I don't remember, he did the research though. They smelled the whole house up. Sooooo yummy.

I made Alex this t-shirt. The front says, "Bestest Husband Ever".

And the back says, "1 Year of Awesomeness." It's not the best, but if you know me, I'm not the most artistic person ever. So this turned out awesome for me. lol

I also got him this little Betta fishy. He has been wanting a fish so I thought it would be a cute little random gift. He named him Flynn.

Theeeeeen, I made the two of us matching cereal bowls. Once again, not the most artistic person ever, but these came out GREAT compared to stuff I've done in the past. Lol. I think I made Alex's way cooler than mine tho. I was so proud of those hand made smiley faces. =)

Later on Sunday evening, we went on a little picnic. We were gonna go up in the canyon somewhere, but we got lost... and confused... and ended up in a cute park in Fruit Heights. It was nice tho, cuz even tho people were at the park we found this little secluded area where we were out of sight ; ). It was great.

Alex and his crazy creation of a sandwich. He loooooves ranch and seriously finds ways to put it on everything. Gotta love him!

Oh yummy fattening Ruffles.

When we got home we took our carefully wrapped cake topper out of the freezer. It looked just as cute as the day it was made. It was wrapped in plastic wrap 3 times then in foil twice and kept in the deep freezer. So..... it was pretty much still perfect.

I'm not gonna lie.... I started to cry when we finally unwrapped the cake. It just made everything seem so... real? Idk... it just brought back memories of our wedding day more than pictures ever have before. Just because it was something physical from the day I got sealed to my eternal companion. Our wedding wasn't the fanciest or the most elaborate wedding ever, and my bridesmaids dresses might have turned out COMPLETELY wrong and... different (sorry S.A.M), but it was the sweetest and happiest day of my life. Alex was there and he became my eternal sweetheart and thats alllll that really mattered.

Anyways... I love you, Alex Aaron Nishijima forever and ever. I can't wait to make babies with you and try to be the best wife and see what this next year of our marriage will bring. Muah!!

Stadium of Fire!

So, I know this is a week or so late but here it is anyways! Alex and I went to the Stadium of Fire in Provo for the 4th of July. They have this big program thing with opening singers and performers and then they have the MAIN PERFORMER. Every year the main performer is different and this year it was Carrie Underwood. I'm not gonna lie, thats the only reason we bought tickets. I love Carrie Underwood, and Alex LOVES Carrie Underwood..... MEN! Lol. So anyways... our 4th of July celebration went a little like this:

When we first got in the gates at BYU, Alex and I had to get a shirt. We were gonna get one for each of us, but if you've been to a concert, you know that the shirts there are like $40 each. So we decided we would get a shirt to share. Alex won't wear this in public of course cuz he feels gay, so it's pretty much just a pj shirt that we share. How romantic, eh?? =)

Just us in our seats. We were seriously like the first ones in the gate so we were the only ones sitting there for the longest time. We were there like 2 hrs early. We were excited? But really, we went there so early because of the whole parking issue.

Alex and his awesome possum cup. It lights up and looks SWEET in the dark. Lol. I love the little joys in life that make Alex happy. =) (Gosh, I have the hottest husband ever!! I'm so blessed.)

These were the little Stadium of Fire dancers. They were pretty cool.

There was some other stuff before Carrie came on, but nothing that I think would really be interesting to ya'll. But heeeeeere's Carrie!! Our seats weren't the best, but they definitely weren't the worst. It was awesome just being there. Love her!

Seriously.... how hot is she?!

And then of course, to end the whole shindig, FIREWORKS! We took a bunch of pictures of them, but I figured you all know what fireworks look like, so I only posted 2. It was the best firework show I've ever seen tho. AWESOME!

Then between the fireworks, those little dancer girls came back out and outline the U.S. and they showed some video of a bunch of U.S. history. Everything was awesome. It made me soooo grateful for my country.

So overall, it was preeeeeetty amazing! We had an awesome time. I can't wait to see who will be performing next year. Hopefully someone awesome and not lame like the Jonas Brothers.... gross... they were the performers last year. Taylor Swift would be sweet.... yeah, we'd be going to that. =)

Ok, so these are the videos that were suppose to go with the last post. You might not think it's funny, but I'm pretty sure i peed a little. His arms flapping is what cracks me up. Enjoy!
