Loving love

Sometimes when I get bored I like to look at pictures of when me and Alex were still dating. They make me giggle. Remembering all the times I use to get "butterflies" being around him. Our first time holding hands in church.... our first walk around the neighborhood together holding hands... when we first said "I love you"... introducing him to people as my boyfriend, and then as my fiancée... getting butterflies from staring at pictures of him on my desk at work.

I always laugh thinking back at the the time when we were at Oreganos just a couple days after we started dating and we were gonna share a pizza. So I asked him, "do you like green olives?" and he said, "yeah, sure!" So thats what we ordered. I was THRILLED that I found a guy who liked green olives! A couple months later, probably after we were engaged, I found that he HATES green olives. Despises them. The smell of them, the look of them, color of them. Everything. Poor guy probably wanted to throw up that night. lol. Now he'd be like, "Green olives on MY pizza. Yeah right woman. You wish." lol. Jk, he might be a little nicer than that (probably not tho Ü). Everything is different after marriage.

And I wouldn't change it for the world. It's a good different.

"Dating love" is great. Obviously. It's pretty much what you need to get married. lol. Those butterflies are what keep ya goin' Ü. But I swear after walking out of the temple it was like a whole new world. Life just completely changed. It took on a whole new meaning. It wasn't just about me anymore... I had an eternal companion. From then on it would be US. Anything I'd go through, WE'd go through. We're big kids now! I'll never forget the feeling in the pit of my stomach the first night Alex and I spent the night in our apartment. It was sooo weird going to bed knowing we didn't have parents in the next room. No parents to check the doors for us at night. No parents to cook us dinner. No parents to grab a bat to protect us if someone broke in. It was just us. US. It was almost a scary feeling, but also one of the best. It meant we had each other. No matter what happens in the world, we'd have each other. I slept soundly that night knowing that. Ü

When the heck did I grow up?! I swear just yesterday I was in elementary school play Spice Girls with my friends at recess. It's crazy! And somewhat scary. But since I HAVE to grow up, there's nobody I'd rather do it with than Alex. Sometime I look at him when he isn't looking and think, "He picked ME. Out of all the Utah hotties he could have dated when he got home, he only wanted this crazy Arizona girl.

Although we have to grow up and eventually get old, loving him never gets old. Just last night I looked at him as we were getting in bed and said, "We get to sleep in the same bed together, cuz we're married!" Lol. Can you tell it still amazes me that I'm old enough to be married. lol. But dang I love him. We're going through so much together right now. And I've learned so much in the last 1yr and a half or so of being married. I don't just love Alex, but I LOVE him. Sooooo deeply. Soooo much. More and more each day. I know that's completely cheesy but it's oh so true. Brad Paisley says it so perfectly in our wedding song:

"Now you're my whole life,
Now you're my whole world,
I just cant believe the way I feel about you girl,
Like a river meets the sea, stronger than its ever been,
We've come so far since that day,
And I thought I loved you then"

Well I guess that's all of my blabbing for one night. Enjoy the silly pictures of us and our "dating love". Ü

Ps, PLEEEASE don't think I'm putting you down if you are not married. I'm totally not saying that. I'm not above anyone at all. =)

Poor kid got soap in his eyes. =(

Top 5

Okay, so since I'm bored and I have nothing better to do with my life right now (I need a baby. Stat) I figured I would tell you my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

I just want to start by saying that these are NOT in order of "likeness" at all. They are just in random order because I couldn't decide. Ü

A Walk to Remember. Seriously I NEVER get sick of watching it (although I could say that for all of the movies on my top 5). The funny part is that when this first came out in theaters, I absolutely HATED it with a passion. It came out when I was in 7th grade I think and I remember when we carpooled, if it was Serena or Alicia's mom's week to drive they would ALWAYS be playing this soundtrack in the car. I wanted to puke. I hated all the lovey dovey 'happily ever after' chick flick movies. (Reminder: I only liked horror movies up until I got graduated high school.) It was like the "cool" thing to like and I hated being part of a trend. I'm just stubborn like that. That's the same reason I've never read ANY of the Harry Potter books, Twilight books, or The Hunger Games books. Ps, no offense if you love all that, I'm just a brat who doesn't like to do it because it's popular. So anyways... I don't know when my eyes were opened but I LOVE this movie. And ps again, I DO now have this soundtrack on my ipod and it's the best soundtrack ever!!

Labyrinth. This movie is older than I am and has been one of my favorites since I was born. Seriously. When I was little, I use to make all my friends watch this at my birthday party (my bday was in the summer so I always had sleepovers. hence the movie watching). Ask my mom, Serena, Alicia or anyone. I had the biggest crush on David Bowie because of this movie. It's ridiculous and somewhat wrong, I know. Ps, I also have this soundtrack on my ipod.

Music and Lyrics. This started my crush with Hugh Grant. I wanna know him someday. Drew Barrymore really isn't my favorite at all, but she is okay in this movie. Idk what it is about it, but I love it. It's funny and cute and it makes me happy. And I mean, it's Hugh Grant... and he sings... how can you not love that?! My favorite scene is when he is on stage singing "Meaningless Kiss". When I meet him someday, I want him to look me in the eyes and sing it to me. Yes yes. Ps, guess what... I have this soundtrack on my ipod too. Ü

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Oh..... Johnny. Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. I have to admit, when I saw this movie for the first time in theaters I had no idea who Johnny Depp was. I had heard of his name before but that was it. Sad, I know. I HATE admitting that. I wanted to see it because I'd seen it advertise on TV and it looked like it was going to be a good scary movie. So my friend, Lindsey, and I went to go see it after she had spent the night at my house one night. When it first showed Jack Sparrow arriving on his little sinking boat, I was gone. He had me. The whole movie I was mesmerized by his glorious face. At the end of the movie I looked at Lindsey and said, "You're gonna hate me, but I'm already obsessed with that scruffy, drunk acting, eyeliner wearing pirate who you probably think is ugly. He's probably a nobody that they just found on the street, but I wanna wait for the credits. I gotta see who played Jack Sparrow". A few seconds later.... Captain Jack Sparrow..... Johnny Depp. Bam! I had officially changed my name to Malisa Rowena Rose Depp (in my head). I'm such an idiot that I actually went back and saw it not twice, not 3 times, not even 5, but yes 13 times in the theater before it came out on DVD. I was a sick child... don't ask. As of now, I've watched it over 25 times. I stopped counting. And yes, I do have the soundtrack on my ipod.

Mamma Mia. Even though, I couldn't put the rest of the movies in order of "likeness", I'm PRETTY sure I could say that Mamma Mia would be my #1. My bff, Stacey, and I went to see it in the theater for the first time. And let me tell you, we had NOOOOOO idea it was a musical. None. Zip. Nada. Zilch. When Amanda Seyfried started singing the first song, "Honey Honey", Stacey and I immediately looked at each other with WIDE EYES and flippin confused faces which read, "This is a musical?!" We instantly started silently giggling cuz we though, "Wow, how lame is this gonna be?! What did we get ourselves into?!" As the movie went on.... we fell in love. And I found myself crushing on Bill, aka Stellan Skarsgård. Idk whats wrong with me and older men. Alan Jackson, Johnny Depp, David Bowie, Jon Bon Jovi. Sick, I know. Sorry. I also fell in love with Amanda Seyfried (not in a gay way) also. She is one of my favorite actresses now. I saw it a total of 7 times in the theater. A little better than 13, but not by much. After the 2nd time of seeing it, Stacey, Alicia, Michelle, and I went straight to Wal-Mart and bought the soundtrack and had a dance party in my driveway (Sorry Gramma and Aunt Edith!). And yes, you guessed it, soundtrack= ipod. =)

So I know I said top 5, but it was very tough and I couldn't leave this one out so I'm calling it my "Honorable Mention". The Phantom Tollbooth. It was made in 1970 and it's amazing. When I was younger I use to call it "Milo". That's the main character's name. In fact, I really thought that's what it was called and just found out it's real name seriously about 2 years ago. It starts off as a real movie then turns into a cartoon. I use to snuggle up on the couch and watch it over and over while my brothers and sisters were at school. Funny thing is, the only copy we had was a VHS of what my mom recorded off the TV. I remember having to fast forward through all the commercials while I was watching it. For all I know, I bet there are scenes I've never even seen. You know how sometimes they cut things out to make it shorter for TV. Anyways... it's great. I haven't seen it in about 3 years and I'm hoping to find a DVD copy of it and buy it when we have more money. I want my kids to watch it over and over like I use to Ü. Sadly I don't have the soundtrack on my ipod (shocker, I know!) although I know I would LOVE it. Hearing those songs brings back sooo many memories. Ü

Well that was a nice trip through memory lane! Sorry it's kind of a long post. If you haven't seen some or all of these movies, you should! Then buy the soundtracks ;).

Peace!

The Stalker In Me

I don't mean I'm the scary person hiding in your tree with binoculars taking pictures or anything. But I use to be the immature high school girl stalker who has a crush (or obsession) with some boy at school and OCCASIONALLY (Darlene, Shhhh!) drives by their house wishing I could be in there making out with them. So sue me. Now, I'm not saying I still drive by guy's houses still or anything. Thats all behind me. Obviously.

But sometimes, I get this itch of stalker-ness. Nothing bad I guess. But sometimes I like to drive by our old apartment in Layton and see who lives there. Nooooo, I don't park and watch them. I just drive by and get super jealous. I miss our apartment soooo bad! That was our first home together. At first nobody was living there (that I could tell), but now some dang Dodge Charger is in OUR parking spot. I feel like knocking on the door and being like, "Dude, get out of my house, freakball. And move your flippin car out of my spot while you're at it." Cuz I'm weird like that. I get super attached to things. Yes. Cars, people, animals, clothes, everything. I bawled my eyes out when I traded in my Dodge Neon, for my Jeep. I felt so bad driving away from the car lot leaving Skittles there (Yes, I name my cars.) I hated Booger for the first couple days for stealing the spot of Skittles. I also secretly cried when my dad sold his metallic blue Lincoln. I watched the guy drive away in it until he turned the corner and I couldn't see it anymore. Wow, this all sounded normal in my head but as I write it, I realize I'm kind of a freak. ANYWAYS.... I love to love things. So yeah, that's all I guess. So I'm not really a stalker, I'm just an over lover. At least thats what I tell myself ;).

Please don't think I'm a weirdo now, I'm still the same ol' Malisa Rowena Rose Nishijima you all know (maybe a little too much) and love. =)

Have a good Saturday!!

Perfection at last!

For the last year or more I've been on the search for the perfect foundation. And.... Thanks to Taylor Swift.... I found it!! Seriously, amazing! I love it!! It's sooo smooth and light! And.... I love the smell? I get excited every time I put it on because it smells so good.

Ps, I'm not even gonna lie... Yes, I actually went to the store and bought it after seeing the commercial. It's girls like me that make Taylor Swift a flippin millionaire (I was watching CMT the other day and they said she makes over 20 MILLION a year. HOLY BANANAS!) BUT in my defense, I also wanted to try it because it said even the $180 make up couldn't beat it for a light weight feel. And since I really want $180 make up AND a light weight feel, why not?! Pss, I also wanna try the gloss balm... Just cuz Taylor Swift told me to. Pathetic? Yes? But true? Also yes.

So if you're in the market for new foundation, you should buy this! Because I recommend it, but more importantly, because Taylor Swift recommends it. =)

Good day!

Our first born

I'm soooo sick of the cold. And the snow. Boooo! TOTALLY ready to be outside laying out in the sun in 75 degree weather with shorts and flip flops. Shoot, I'd even take 100 degrees right now! Oh soooo ready. BUT this picture is one of the few reasons I still adore the snow. So stinkin cute. Pebbles likes to frolics in it I think to avoid touching it, which only makes it touch her more. Idk. She's special. And I heart her to death. =)

HAHA... as I type this right now, she is on the floor hugging her stuffed animal frog between her two front legs as a child would (Except children do not have front legs, but you know what I mean). I kid you not, she's half human. I'm starting to even believe she's completely human stuck in a dog's body. Ohhh... Pebbles Renee Nishijima. =)

Did you know...

Alex and I went on our first date to Chick-fil-a. (My choice)

The same man who gave me my Patriarchal blessing in 2005, also married Alex and me in 2009.

Me and my two sisters all have 2 middle names. And my daughters will also have 2 middle names.

My first celebrity crush was Alan Jackson which started back in 5th grade. My first real crush was Chris Bowman back in 2nd grade. (It could have been earlier than that, I don't really remember.)

Alex and I said, "I love you" to each other on our first date (In the desert on top of my Jeep looking at the stars. How romantic Ü) after just having formally met for the first time earlier that same day. Nonetheless, we didn't have our first kiss till the next day in the park which is where he proposed 3 months later. Ü

I was so nervous the first time we cuddled (first date, on top of the Jeep) that I manage to say, "Usually I hate guys feet and when they touch me... but I don't mind your feet!" Smooth, Malisa. I guess that was my way of saying, 'You're special!' lol. Not one of my proudest moments. It was one of those things that after you say it you think to yourself... 'WHAT THE....?!' and turn your head hoping you didn't really just say that out loud.

My favorite food/pizza EVER is my brother in law, Kirk's, homemade thin crust cheese and green olive pizza. With Oreganos' thin crust cheese and green olive pizza as a close 2nd.

My favorite dessert in the whole entire universe is Oreganos' chocolate chip pizza cookie. (Will SOMEBODY please come open an Oreganos in Utah? PLEASE!)

I had heart surgery in August of 2008. Because I'm cool and that's how I roll.

I have VERY scary and vivid dreams. For example, people killing themselves in front of me, Satan appearing and trying to kill me, a woolly mammoth attacking me with red and evil in his eyes (Ps, the woolly mammoth did succeed in killing me by biting my body in half. I felt the pain and cold rush through my body and then woke up). Scary? I think yes. I can feel physical pain in my dreams. Especially when my brother, Scott, tries to shoot me (And even succeeded once. It hurt). I've had that dream multiple times. And I even know how to fly in my dreams. It's kinda weird, but amazing at the same time. And it comes in handy when the bad guy is trying to kill me, I just fly away! Sometimes. Sometimes I die.

One of my best friends (since 5th grade), Alicia, is on a mission in Canada. She comes home in the middle of October this year and she'll be living in St George!! Thats only 4 hours away from me... a HECK of a lot closer than Mesa. Yay!! =)

The SADDEST day of my life was when I had to get rid of my goats, Billy Ray and Bobby Joe. Seriously, it scarred me. I don't think I've ever cried so hard in my life. They were my babies... I cuddled them in blankets and rocked them in my arms, cleaned their teeth with my finger, bottle fed them, laughed at everything they did and thought they were the most adorable things on earth. They were my children. I miss them. I want more goats. Or maybe I should just get pregnant. Or both?

One of my other best friends, Stacey, and I dated twins back in 08 for about 3 months. It was fun. Then we started realizing that we were only dating them because we were able to hang out with each other. We started thinking.... 'Let's marry them, then we can be sisters and be with each other for eternity!!' We were indeed in love with each other. Lol. Sadly, we realized we should let them go and move on. She later married my ex boyfriend who I dated after the twins. And it's alllll good. =)

My favorite color is green. Pretty much all greens except for forest green. Not a big fan. Mint green, yes.

Alex and I both want a baby girl first. Like, deeply, sincerely, NEED a girl first. I might cry if they tell me it's a boy. Sad, yes. True, also yes. But will I absolutely LOVE a boy as well? After a little cry first, yes of course I will. Ü

Also, We have alll 5 of our kids names picked out. We do. 3 girls, 2 boys. Thats how we roll. I'm kind of excited about it. =)

My dad and I two-stepped to this song at my wedding... laugh if you must, but I love it. I get tear eyed every time I hear it. My dad is actually the one who picked it out when I was like 15. He bought this CD of Red Sovine at a truck stop on a road trip he was on. The second he pulled into the driveway he was sooo excited and said, "Lisa! Come listen to this song I found! We can dance to it at your wedding!" How do you say no to that?! lol. I secretly cried when I heard it but I hid it from my dad. I'm a tough girl, and I don't cry in front of people ;). Ps, the 3rd verse is my favorite... it's gets me everytime. And pss, I did not make this video and I realize some of the words are wrong (The GRAVES?? Everyone knows it's the BRAVES. DUH!) Ü

I guess that's it for now.

I'll think of some more random facts and post them in a future post.

Hope you enjoyed the randomness!

A Little Piece of Heaven.

What I'm about to tell you right now, may make you think I'm an even bigger freak than you thought I was. I might even lose a few friends after this.... but I'm gonna tell you anyways...

I have a guilty pleasure. Seriously, it's one of my favorite things in the whole world. I use to think it was normal, cuz I've grown up doing it (I believe my dad got me started on it), but Alex told me that I'm weird. He said that nobody else does it but me. I don't care tho, I'm special and I know it =). Here it is.... I..... like to brush my teeth in the shower. No, I LOVE to brush my teeth in the shower. Wait no, I'm OBSESSED with brushing my teeth in the shower. Don't get me wrong, I still brush my teeth when I'm not in the shower. But if I'm in the shower, you can bet your bottom dollar ima brushin ma teeth. And I don't do it right when I get in the shower. That's all wrong. It has to be towards the end when it's all steamy and hot in there. Then you stick the minty toothpaste and toothbrush in your mouth and brush for like 5 minutes and it's just heaven. I swear it feels like your teeth are getting 5x cleaner than just brushing at the sink. It's so hot and steamy in the shower, but your mouth is all cool, tingly, and minty fresh, oh gosh! Seriously, highlight of my shower right there. Growing up, my dad and I actually had our own toothbrush holders on the wall of the shower (I used my parents bathroom as I got older cuz my brothers are pigs and I hated their bathroom. fyi). So I blame my dad. It's funny because I actually blame him for about 82% of my weird quirks. =)

Anyways... I just felt like I needed to share that with ya'll. Not because you needed another reason of why I'm weird, but because I want you to try it. And let me know if I'm a total freak and I image how wonderful it is, or if ya'll agree and now your boring showers are all 100% better. Ps, If you already do, and in reality ALEX is the loner for being the only one who doesn't, LET ME KNOW. Not so that I can shove it in his face or anything ;).

Good day!
